Zoho Mail DNS Setup Guide

What are DNS records?

DNS records are settings for your domain name.

Your domain may look like this:

yourdomain.com

DNS records tell the internet where different services for your domain should go.

For email, DNS records tell the internet:

  • Which email provider should receive emails for your domain
  • Which provider is allowed to send emails from your domain
  • How Zoho can verify that you own the domain
  • How Zoho can authenticate emails sent from your domain

When setting up Zoho Mail, you usually need to add several DNS records in your domain provider’s DNS manager.

Where do I add these records?

You need to add the records in the DNS manager where your domain’s active nameservers are pointed.

This may be your domain registrar or another DNS provider.

Examples of places where DNS may be managed:

  • GoDaddy
  • Namecheap
  • Cloudflare
  • cPanel
  • Partner Console
  • Hostinger
  • Bluehost
  • SiteGround
  • Squarespace Domains
  • Other hosting or domain providers
