Test And Activate AI Receptionist

Testing protects callers from incomplete setup. Do not mark a setup active until the AI number, forwarding, knowledge, and transfer settings are ready.

Activation Checklist

Before going live, confirm:

  • business profile is accurate
  • AI number is assigned
  • AI number answers when called directly
  • current business phone number forwards to the AI number
  • test call to the current business phone number reaches the AI
  • hours, services, FAQs, pricing, policies, and custom knowledge are approved
  • transfer phone is verified if live transfers are enabled
  • fallback behavior is safe

Test The AI Number First

Call the AI number directly. Ask simple questions:

  • What are your hours?
  • Where are you located?
  • What services do you offer?
  • Can I speak to someone?

If answers are missing, update approved knowledge before forwarding customer calls.

Test Your Current Business Number

After the direct test works, forward your current business phone number to the AI number. Then call your current business phone number from another phone.

This confirms the exact caller path customers will use.

Mark Setup Active

After both test steps pass, mark the setup active in the dashboard. Active status tells your team the AI Receptionist is ready for real forwarded calls.

If Testing Fails

Do not keep forwarding live callers to a broken setup. Turn forwarding off at your phone provider, fix the issue, and test again.
