AI Receptionist Quick Start
Use this guide when you want the shortest safe path from signup to live call answering.
Before You Start
Have these details ready:
- business name and business type
- current business phone number in international format, such as
+1 972 555 1212 - notification email
- business hours
- business address or service area
- transfer phone number, if callers should be sent to a person
- common FAQs, service details, pricing notes, and policies
Your current business phone number is the number customers call today. Your AI number is the CloudMySite forwarding number you will receive after starting the trial.
Step 1: Create The Setup
Open the AI Receptionist area in your CloudMySite workspace and choose Create AI Receptionist. Enter the business name, business type, current business phone number, notification email, and hours.
Keep the current business phone number accurate. This is the number you will later forward to the AI number.
Step 2: Choose Voice And Behavior
Set the receptionist name, voice, tone, greeting message, call mode, and fallback behavior.
For most businesses, start with:
- call mode: Answer all calls
- fallback behavior: Take a message
- take messages: on
- transfer human requests: on only after the transfer phone is verified
Step 3: Add Approved Knowledge
Add at least hours, services, FAQs, and policies before going live. The AI answers only from approved knowledge.
If you import from a website or upload a file, review the draft and approve selected sections before expecting the AI to use that information.
Step 4: Start Trial And Reserve The AI Number
Choose your preferred country, number type, and area code. Start the 14-day trial to reserve a real AI forwarding number. The trial includes 20 test minutes. A payment method is required, and you can cancel anytime.
Step 5: Test, Forward, Activate
- Call the AI number directly.
- Confirm it greets callers correctly.
- Log in to your current phone provider.
- Forward your current business phone number to the AI number.
- Call your current business phone number from another phone.
- Confirm the AI answers.
- Mark the setup active.
Do not forward the AI number back to your current business phone number. That can create a call loop.
