Upload Knowledge Files

File upload helps you bring business information into AI Receptionist when it is not already on your website.

Supported Files

Current supported file types:

  • TXT
  • CSV
  • MD

Files should be smaller than 1 MB. PDF and DOCX import may appear as coming soon in the product interface.

What To Upload

Good file content includes:

  • hours
  • services
  • FAQs
  • pricing notes
  • policies
  • appointment instructions
  • special caller instructions

Do not upload private customer records, full contracts, passwords, or sensitive internal documents.

Upload Flow

  1. Open Knowledge.
  2. Open the Import tab.
  3. Choose Upload business knowledge.
  4. Select a supported file.
  5. Review the draft sections.
  6. Edit any wording that should sound better on calls.
  7. Select the sections to use.
  8. Approve selected sections.

Approval Required

Uploaded file content is not used by the AI until you review and approve it. This is intentional. A file may contain outdated prices, internal notes, or wording that should not be spoken to callers.

Best Practices

  • Upload focused files instead of large mixed notes.
  • Put one topic per line or section.
  • Label prices and policies clearly.
  • Review every imported section before approval.
