Upload Knowledge Files
File upload helps you bring business information into AI Receptionist when it is not already on your website.
Supported Files
Current supported file types:
- TXT
- CSV
- MD
Files should be smaller than 1 MB. PDF and DOCX import may appear as coming soon in the product interface.
What To Upload
Good file content includes:
- hours
- services
- FAQs
- pricing notes
- policies
- appointment instructions
- special caller instructions
Do not upload private customer records, full contracts, passwords, or sensitive internal documents.
Upload Flow
- Open Knowledge.
- Open the Import tab.
- Choose Upload business knowledge.
- Select a supported file.
- Review the draft sections.
- Edit any wording that should sound better on calls.
- Select the sections to use.
- Approve selected sections.
Approval Required
Uploaded file content is not used by the AI until you review and approve it. This is intentional. A file may contain outdated prices, internal notes, or wording that should not be spoken to callers.
Best Practices
- Upload focused files instead of large mixed notes.
- Put one topic per line or section.
- Label prices and policies clearly.
- Review every imported section before approval.
