Hours Knowledge

Hours tell callers when you are open, closed, or available by appointment. They also support after-hours call handling.

Add Regular Hours

Use simple daily wording:

Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

If your business has lunch breaks or split hours, enter both time ranges clearly.

Add Exceptions

Add notes for:

  • holidays
  • seasonal hours
  • emergency-only hours
  • appointment-only days
  • special event closures

Example:

We are closed on major US holidays. Emergency service calls are reviewed after hours.

After-Hours Behavior

If call mode is set to After-hours only, the AI uses your hours to decide when it should answer. If your hours are unclear or outdated, after-hours answering may not match your expectations.

Best Practices

  • Use the caller's local time zone when possible.
  • Update holiday hours before the holiday.
  • Tell the AI what to do when closed, such as take a message or transfer urgent calls.
  • Avoid vague wording like "open late sometimes."
