Call forwarding sends calls from your current business phone number to your AI number.
The Simple Rule
Your current business phone number is the number customers call today. Your AI number is the CloudMySite/Amazon Connect forwarding number assigned to your AI Receptionist.
You forward:
Current business phone number -> AI number
Do not forward:
AI number -> Current business phone number
Forwarding the AI number back to the current number can create a call loop.
Who Sets Up Forwarding?
You set up forwarding with your current phone provider. CloudMySite provides the AI number and answers calls after they arrive, but your existing provider controls forwarding on your current business phone number.
General Steps
- Copy the AI number from CloudMySite.
- Call the AI number directly to confirm it answers.
- Open your current phone provider settings.
- Find call forwarding, call handling, routing, or forwarding numbers.
- Set the destination to the AI number.
- Save changes.
- Call your current business phone number from another phone.
- Confirm the AI answers.
